SCCA rulebook discussion
Who knows the classing rules for engine swaps well?

Im sure that none are allowed until SP class but since I have a NX, i get screwed under 15.1.C and not allowed to update/backdate engine/trans stuff.

Then again under 16.1.D in SM class, i feel screwed again.. but im not sure if im reading that right....Im pretty sure its supposed to be only across your model of car. NX is left out to dry if that's so.

If you are talking about U13 swap into NX you are in XP.

im sure i dont have much of a chance in that class

i dont know why they limit the same engine code swaps to the same models

Any engine swap with a turbo attached into a B chassis car is going to get killed by just about everything in the class..............

Better start thinking about doing it for fun............Or rob a bank

You won't at all. Need at least 200 more whp, 500 less lbs, way more R-comp.... and different suspension geometry.

They do it to keep the cars even.

I was doing well in SMF until all the other cars started being trailer'd and were all running Hoosier A6 on 8inch wide wheels and i was the only one in the class with street tires then i got used to coming in last

Smf is not a bad place to go.I've been DSP in my B14 for 10 years, and never really gotten killed at Nats until the last couple of years.Making the switch to SMF just because I can remove unwanted weight from the car and still be within the rules.I've been fortunate enough regionally to just crush people in Raw and pax time, but nationally starting to get left behind.I ran SMF at Nats in 2010,and finished 5th out of 14 in a daily driven, unprepped, car. This year I should be in a better position, with the car coming in at about 2125 lbs,140 whp.Don't give up,keep digging for what you can get.Enjoy surprising people who overlook you as a non-factor

We have a local class for anything with street tires.RTU,for road tire unlimited. You could do something like that,it seems to be pretty popular.Crazy mods unlimited, but the tire thing seems to even it all out.
