Absolutely. I've found myself really wishing for more torque when courses get really dug up and you start getting bogged down in the loose stuff.
I think a high-compression SR20 would be the best option (and why I have a set of SR16VE pistons sitting on the shelf next to where my extra high-port engine is sitting...
A 1.6L B13 is slow getting out of the turns. The rest of the time it's decent, but there's no making up for that. I've run against one that was driven by a guy with more experience, and who is probably faster than me all things being equal, and with the SR20DE it was no contest at all.
