AD22 Front / Nothing/drum rear?
I have a b14 circle track asphalt (.25-.4 mile) race car with b14 ser master cylinder, ad22 up front and stock b14 ser rear disc setup. My rear beam is bent pretty bad from a crash and was wondering how the car would perform with b14 drums out back and ad22 up front. I sourced a free drum rear end.

I have searched for a while on this topic and couldn't find any info on the subject. Thank you in advance guys!

I'm not sure how many circle trackers we have here but I run a Paseo on my local paved oval. I run enduros so I have to make my brakes last between 100 and 200 laps. With that said, do you left foot brake it every lap or just at the end when you need to gain everything possible?

In any case I would imagine that your b14's handling under braking wouldn't change too much. You could always add some air to the right rear if the drums caused a bit of understeer under braking. It's hard to say though. I hope others will have some more input. But from past experiences here, there aren't many oval trackers.

Yeah I generally keep the right rear jacked up along with the taller tires on the right side to help it turn/oversteer. I don't left food brake (yet). It is a technique I know I need to pick up, especially considering we stay in the same gear the whole race.

Our longest race is 50 laps at .4 miles tracks and its not like I heat up the brakes a ton. My biggest worry is the brake bias being completely messed up and the back being locking up before the front. I think I am just going to put the drum rear end in and see what happens. I will take something to block off the rear brakes on race day just in case. My disc rear end is all sorts of fuked.... lol

You can go quicker by left foot trail braking into the corners but even in a 50 lap race my Paseo's front brakes can get hot in just 10 laps. Then again you have the huge and heavy AD22's so probably no worries.

If anything, I would think that the drums would offer less braking than the rear discs, so I don't think you'll have to worry about them locking up prematurely.
