Solo 2 Street Touring C Question
Hello everyone.. I have a quick question regarding the rules of the STC Class. I have been looking into taking the NX back to autocrossing If I keep it. The new STC Class is pretty much a perfect fit besides one part.. which I am wondering how quick it will be protested. For those interested in helping, please PM Me.

STC is pretty much last year's ST, which strictly requires a EF Civic Si to win at upper level events where protests would make any difference. No driver of any caliber is going to win Nationals in a NX2000, and probably not any Tours.

Go have fun. Don't worry about classification. If it's a FSP car, run FSP in almost-STC trim.

The Sad truth I was hoping not to hear. The 2012 rulebook made it sound like I was SI Free.

What REALLY blows my mind is that the NX2000 is now put up against the E Production cars ( Healey Sprites MG Midgets, and I think the AE86) Where as when I was autocrossing back in 03-05 I was building the car to eventually go in DSP.

I am trying to weigh my options of having the most stress free fun in Autocrossing. Either fixing up the NX as is and getting it reliably road worthy ( Basically a basic brake overhaul, tune up, and quiet the exhaust), and possibly making a full campaign of autocrossing the NX.. or I fix it up as is.. sell it and get into Karting. The price tag to get a used car and get started, as well as running what is now " Kart Modified" is VERY Tempting. My only concern with that is long term upkeep, being competitive, and if the 2 stroke will get axed, as I really like the idea of a 125cc shifter kart. I dont want a 4 stroke put put... Thanks for Chiming in Jim.. I'm interested in hearing more feedback. What class are you running these days?

The B13 SE-R/NX went to FSP a few years ago, and that's an okay place if you don't mind the tire bills. A full-prep B13 could probably trophy with a decent driver. You have to do some heavy duty mods to go all the way to Prod class. I'd stick with FSP or STC.

I just installed Hotbits rally coilovers on my B13 for RallyCross action. My '01 Miata does most of my autocross duty, and it falls into STR. The hot setup for STR is a S2000 or '06+ MX-5, but the older Miatas are light and super tire-friendly. Great for just hitting up local events. I drove an EVO 8 in STU at Nationals in 2010, and a Neon ACR in FSP in 2009. If I got the itch to be "serious business" autocrossing again, I'd probably beg/pay my way into a full-prep co-drive.

A lot of kart drivers will let you do an event in their equipment to see if you like it or not. They're usually excited to have more people join their class.

Yea Jim, you hit the nail on the head. Tire Bills. With an STS car ( if I can run in that class, not sure if all of my mods will fly with current ruling) I can spend about 500 a year on tires. With a set of dedicated wheels or just mounting the Dunlop Speed Stars on the 200SX wheels I have.. its a bargain.

My only complaint is that if I end up parting ways with the NX to get into karting and have a dedicated track toy.. it puts me down to just one means of transportation, my B15. I can literally see the week that if the NX was sold the Super Sentra decides to break down bigtime knowing my luck. The thought of having a super simplified setup to be competing for FTD's ( Not if the Legrand in Mod class has anything to say) every event when I can get used to the karting experience is VERY tempting.
