As a GTiR owner, and rally fan I fully support this build. Good work!

Been a while. Not a lot of progress the last few months, but bits here and there. The fuel and brake lines have been re-run inside the cabin, a roof-mounted vent was added, and I got in a set of Depo Tsurus and did this with them:

The conversion was done with Morimoto Mini D2S projectors from theretrofitsource.com. They're bi-xenon lamps with the cutoff on a servo. I used their "Apollo" shrouds and trimmed them to fit the housing. Ended up turning out really well.

The ballasts are proper German-made Hella 35W units, not cheapies. I had them sitting around (along with a pair of D2S bulbs) from a set of rally lights I upgraded to 55W HID.

It lives!

For the first time since I've owned this chassis, it has a running engine in it!

This engine is a perfect example of how amazing the SR20DE is. It's 21 years old, pure stock internally, has never even had the valve cover off to the best of my knowledge. Has 185K on it. It's been in a dedicated competition car for the last 8 years (and was owned by an autocrosser before that). The % of running time this car has spent at WOT and redline over that time is stupid high and I've driven this thing without mercy in extreme conditions. And it just keeps on doing it's thing. Can't wait to go beat the crap out of it even more.

Set the ride height, then did a bunch of little stuff while my friend, who runs an alignment shop, came over and did a rough-in alignment. So many things have been changed on the car or simply taken off and stored and then put back on, that we didn't want to drive it to the shop without getting it close. Good thing too. Had nearly 2" of toe in on the front! (put on much beefier tie rod ends which apparantly have a lot more threads in them).

Anyhow, I'll try to take some pics this evening.

Just over 1 week to my first event! Eeek!

Ran the brake line for the rears into the hydro handbrake and theb back to a T back by the fuel pump access cover, and lines from that to the wheel wells. Got one side done and the other just needs a single flare and connection made. Gotta get that done tonight, so I can drive the car to the shop tomorrow at noon.

Also cleaning up stuff and getting ready to reinstall the dash and drivers seat tonight too.

Will try again, to rember to take some pics. With the Tsurus + Morimoto projectors and a few other cosmetic hcnges, the car is starting to look pretty good (for a car with paint in horrible shape, at least).

The car as it stands. Actually drove it around today.

Front end with Tsurus. The bumper cover will be painted blue as well, once I find one that's worth painting.

Hydro handbrake plumbed in. Works nice.

Both seats with 6-points installed.

Battery relocated to the trunk. Ammo box to the right holds the required hazardous spill kit.

Cheap Ryobi cordless for changing tires, etc when away from service (the good Milwaukee tools live with the service truck). Ammo canister on this side holds a tow-strap, some clevis ends to hook it, and hand tools.

Helmet intercom and roof vent.

Blower replaced with a 3" marine blower motor (the cage gets in the way of the stock blower location).

The Tsurus make the front end look a little more modern, but the real point was the clear lenses they have. With the Morimoto Mini-D2S retrofit.

And Hella 35W HID ballasts.

This was the car loaded and ready to go on Friday evening:

Well, I successfully completed my first event (which is an achievement) and the car's first event (even more of an achievement). I broke 10 minutes on the stage, which is traditionally the good target for a rookie.

Long writeup coming later.
