Oscar,

My SE-R is now so light that it sits way too high in the rear. I tried cutting the rear springs [1.5 coils] and it now sits where I want it, but the springs are now physically too short to stay in place at full droop. No good. So I picked up a set of 2" drop springs and will try the rear ones out. They advertise 35% stiffer than stock and might end up working out just right for my combo.

What are you using for springs after gutting your car?

Mike

P.S. There's a thread with pics of the restoration of my rusty rallycross project car HERE.

We will be running JVAB stuff on mine as I already have the fronts. In other words, all my potential suspension issues will be solved. Our build pics are up on my FB page. Check em out.
And we are looking forward to doing some of the Pougkeepsie events...

Cool pics Oscar. Thanks for posting them. Did you get your JVAB coilover setup new or used? I may step up to that if my setup doesn't perform up to expectations.

Just checked out your FB page. Looks like all the same stuff I did to mine so far. I even mounted my seat the same way with rectangle tubing across the floor. Can't wait until I finish my car and get it out. How many miles are on yours?

Thanks-Sure was a good time. I have to say the DC rally-x series are fast and long and gives you good seat time. There is usually at least one section that we go into 3rd gear. Hopefully next time we will have some incar videos!

I had bought a set of used but rebuilt fronts for my Gti rally car which I never installed a couple of years back. The rears will be built new. In terms of mileage, I am unsure. The car came with a Digital NX dash that wasn't fully hooked up and was hiding an electrical nightmare behind it. Our seat base is temporary-for rallyx use only right now. We will build it out of 1.5 inch DOM tubing with sheet metal supporting it on the sills and tunnel.

I see. So you were running a stock suspension last weekend?

I know you had some technical problems but did you get any good runs in and if so, how competitive was the car in M2?

Yes, we ran stock everything including suspension, brakes and even were on street tires. The brakes were rock hard and unresponsive after a couple of turns but despite that we had a couple of decent runs. Never really looked at times since we did not care for the win. There were a couple of turns in which I had a hard time getting up to speed due to the gear ratios. The car would be perfect with a 5:1+ fd. If the car had no issues and we were on rally tires there is no reason not to win the class. In fact a friend in a borrowed b13 SE-R and his old Neon (and the owner) have won some of the DC events Overall!!!

It's great to hear that our B13's are still competitive alomst 20 years later.

I knew I wasn't wasting my time rebuilding my tired B13.

Mike

P.S. I'd buy a set of 5.0 gears if they were available. I heard they used to be [custom made] some years ago?
