This is exactly what I found out this weekend while autocrossing my VE-T P11. Though my turbo is also too lagy, but at least I had traction in second gear. But the next problem I had is with understeer and body roll. Basically the car was too powerful for FWD.
I'm thinking a VE might be a better choice, my friend has a Civic SI that ran much faster times that I did. After I VE the daily I guess I'll find out for sure
