had fun, need some better tires, an a new clutch..

Autocross is tons of fun. How did the VE perform?

Awesome dude! I was just at one yesterday, 2/10th's of a second off first for my class!

thanks guys. the ve performed very well, i think if i had some better tires an maybe adjusted my tire pressure i could of done a bit better, not to mention alot of people were complaining about the way the track was setup, it was way way to tight.. i was the only FWD car on the track that day also... i heard they changed the track at the end of the day so people could get up more speed.. all the turbo cars had to stay in 1st gear to main tain boost.. an my i just left it in second, very seldom was i able to get it into the VVL so i wish i woulda stayed a while an ran the second track configuration..

anyways my clutch is toast cause it has like 40,000 miles on it of me beatin on it.. an my girlfriend got to have 5 runs before i got my runs an she rode the clutch pretty bad.. but its all good i made it home an i can still goto the store or whatever.. im gonna get a stage-1 clutch kit from gspec

Yeah, I need to start paying more attention to tire pressure. The sidewalls of my front tires got all marked up from rolling over at the last autocross. I have a p11 so my car is a bit heavier, but I was running ~40 psi in the front and it still wasn't enough.

SAME HERE!! heh thats why im thinkin about pickin up these 15's i saw at my friends shop today, i think they're nx2000 wheels or something.. they're 15's tho i know that, fwd offset an look like the ones on nx's, but that way i can get some better tires with shoter side walls

That's my experience with VVL in most autocrosses. I'm guessing the lower-geared SR16 transmission would help a TON for autox. I witnessed first-hand how well the gearing worked in high-speed corners at the convention.
