Dyno Sheets, new vs. old
I will be building my SE-R for boost this winter, but wanted to make one last NA run, just out of curiousity.

Here is my run from 2005. Setup was: Stillen 4-1 header, stock cat, 2.5" catback, short-ram intake.

129 WHP 120 WTQ

Here is a run from two weeks ago. Setup is: SSAC header, no cat, 3" VRS exhaust, 91 intake cam, PR cold-air intake, and a G20 ecu.

142 WHP 131 WTQ

Just thought I'd share. Any thoughts?

I would have thought there'd be a much higher increase... Maybe you're losing some from the 3" exhaust, but not like it matters cuz you're going turbo anyway.

I used to have the Stillen and that header was tiny compared to the SSAC...which was larger than the HotShot when it came out ... which was larger than the Stillen...

There is an increase of 13 WHP and a much larger area of power past peak.

Anyway the power increase is what it should be.

He already had a header and changed to another one, he already had an exhaust and changed to another one be it a little larger and he changed to a 91 intake came.

That 91 intake cam is good for about 7 WHP. The header change about 2 WHP and the larger exhaust about 2 WHP on the top end. The 2.5 inch exhaust was never a restriction anyway at this HP level. The CAI another 2 WHP. Having an air filter on is the major improvement. So going from a WAI to a CAI is not going to do much considering when people dyno they have the hood open. This mod might make more HP on the street over the WAI.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's not where it should be. I'm just sayin, I expected more from the header. I know the cam pretty much did most of the work, I was just thinking the header would have gained more than "2whp". I just think with all those changes, I'd be bummed to only see a 13whp increase.

I just know the Stillen was a nice piece, but was overpriced for the gains it received compared to others. I honestly never felt a difference from pre-header, but when I was in other cars with hotshot's/obx's, they felt so much faster. Not to mention the primaries were HUGE.

That's just me though. I've been out of the game for a long time and don't remember a lot. I'm also not as concerned with power anymore. I just like to browse here to shake some cobwebs loose. I guess i was just expecting more. I've seen threads from people going from a Stillen to something else and the difference was more noticeable...or at least I remember it being that way.

Thats actually not too bad, adding pulleys and a JWT Pop Charger or BPi Flow Stack, would give you around 150whp.

Now different dyno's are used, there could be some number variations between the two...

Pretty good gains. I have a stillen 4-1 with a homemade 2.5 downpipe. It feels better than the SSAC 2.5 in the mid-top end. Butt dyno though and other forms of testing. lol

Looks typical to me.

do you think you actually gained any from the g20 ecu?

i made 136whp and 127 t/q with
ssac header
2.5" exhaust no cat
cone filter

and i made 1hp and 1tq more with the g20ecu

My thoughts are right on par with Miko's. I got pretty much exactly what I was expecting with my current mods. Biggest difference being the intake cam. I had all of my current mods installed, minus the CAI, and highport cam, when I went to the dragstrip. After repeated runs, the best I could get out of her was a 16.2. I went home, swapped cams, installed my CAI extension, and then proceded to run a 15.5 at my next srtrip visit.

As far as the G20 ecu, no, I don't really think it made a difference. I picked one up at a salvage yard, and just slapped it in so I could rev a little higher, not that it makes more power at 7500 anyways. More so I don't hit rev limit at the track when I'm caught up in the moment. I still shift at 7000-7200.

If you're refferring to my graphs, they were both done on the same Dynojet, at the same shop. Dynotuned Performance a.k.a. DTP. It's your typical in-floor model 248.
