DE Valvetrain Qs - ??
Ok, so here is the short history:

Right now i'm building a new all motor DE. So I started to research some info about cams options with little success.

Well, here is the first one, which is the big one for my case:
BC springs&retainers + C3 cams and no rev limit ecu, to rev up to 8200-8300

Would the BC springs hold up with the C3 cams?
How much power can i expect? I search a while and found that should be around 170-180 whp, but where, how about the powerband, torque peak, etc.

The second one, which is a open Q, so ppl like me found later this info, is about cam options and power goals. If you have C series cams, put your dynos!!! plz :P. Mine would be here when i finish my car .

Come on ppl, post your Valvetrain + Cams combo!

And yes, i know is cheaper to build an all motor VE with bigger numbers, indeed i have a VE. But a classic SE-R always needs atention too
So please dont say use the VE or buy a VE :P . This is for old school DE lovers

Ok fellows, long post already, can't wait for answers!!! SO POST YOUR CASE ^^

they should be fine, the BC springs are rated up to something like 10.5k even with big cams they should be fine. In your case its more the rockers that i would worry about, make sure you use a rocker arm stopper but even then with that big of cam and high rev you still are risking shattering the rocker arms, they arnt the strongest things in the motor.

BC springs is one of the stiffer springs out there. you'll be fine.

About the rockers, i have the RR lifters (small hole in the top, big hole on the middle) and rocker arm stoppers, also i made the shims trick.

Are the GTiR rockers stronger? They appear to be different from regular DE rocker arms... If so, is it possible to adapt them to a DE head?

Or, what about the rockers that come in the HKS step kits? Are they OEM or are they different?

^^ you'll need solid lifter and solid lifter cams to go with it.

Puppies use the rr lifter plus the BC springs.. You are going to be just fine to about 8500 rpm
Suerte con el proyecto
