Thread: Help!! Crank will not turn completely.

I just read the bible (haynes repair manual) and it says that i need to remove the head. What im tryin to find out, if I have someone take the motor out will the head still need to be removed?

Thank you lord jesus. So far I got a qoute of $395 to have this done. Im gonna look around some more for more prices. So any of you guys out there want to make some money to help me out with this

Try pulling up on the chain while someone else is turning the crank pulley back and forth until it pulls loose. Always worked for me

I 2nd that this happened to me a few weeks ago. A lot of patience and playing with the chain can get it re-aligned without removing the cover. Just make sure all the marking are lined up for timing and make sure the motor turns over fine by hand before starting it.

yeah it should work, its probably just bound up in one of the chain pins down by the crank sprocket, had that happen but with a little patience and tugging on the chain while turning the motor back and forth you can get it to come loose. Hopefully it did not come off the gear. If so then you can still remove the front cover without taking off the head.
