well, I spent the past day trying to figure out why my car was overheating, I was about to replace my thermostat, when I remembered, I did not switch out the JDM temp sensors from the JDM intake manifold

LOL that was a dumb oversight on my part.

The engine heated up the thermostat opened, my heat worked, the clutch cable is taken care of....All I need to do tomorrow is throw my LCA brace back on, and align her!

Ok, so i have some questions... I'm planning on using the same setup, except for stg 2's for me. Cams that big wont hit the pistons with this high of compression? What honest numbers can you look for with this setup?

I did the math a while back and found that the pistons and valves will not hit. (I don't recall the exact clearance I had, I think it might have been .15") My Measurements were for stage 3s, with stg 2s you will be more then fine. I'd estimate around 165 horsepower or so for a similar setup running stage 2s.

What sort of times could you look for? I mean the torque curve, and rating won't be the same as a VE will it?

I'm hoping for low 14's or high 13's. This won't have as much low end as a VE does, due to the fact that it doesn't have VVL.

update:
Got her aligned. The gear must be 1 tooth off because the wheel turns about 2.5 turns to the left, and only 2 and a quarter turns to the right, but that is good enough for me!
I set my timing at 25 BTDC, and idle at 900 rpm, and I am going to attempt to make the 35 mile drive from work to home on saturday with her. I am going to take a couple mile test drive first then park her just to make sure everythings sealed and nothing puddles up under the car.

Nice one glad it's getting there. I'd be very chuffed with high 13's from my similar setup if I ever get it finished.

Now get her run in, and get the beast on the rollers.

high 13's is possible, depends on driver and tire. i dunno about your clutch
