My redline is 8k, for some reason the graph cut off at 7k even though he did bring it up to redline.

You can really tell that when driving with the BC Stage 3's. On mine with stock gears it seems to peek between 7.5-8k.

for 9k I'd need to send the ECU back to JWT and have them take off the rev limiter completely, then I'd have to go buy an MSD and mess around with that. I'm trying to keep this simple and not have to spend too much more right now.

What cam gear settings does anyone suggest for bringing the powerband down lower slightly, and still increasing overlap to add gains? Does +3, -1 sound good?

I am going to sooner or later, just trying to save up some money for right now and milk what I can out of what I have. Any validity to my theory about the large exhaust already helping with scavenging so I don't have to retard the exhaust cam as much as I would with a smaller exhaust to increase overlap?

No idea here man. I have the 2.5 inch header with a dynomax 3" muffler and a turn down. My exhausts stops right below the e-brake handle. It's loud as absolute hell, actually it sounds like a boat out of the water if you know what that sounds like lol. I'll be dynoing in the next month or so, and I'm going to put some gears on and just keep adjusting till it makes the most power lol.

LOL, yea I am going to try +3 -1 I Think Unless anyone can suggest something they think will be better.
