Amen.

The BCs seem to have a significantly steeper profile despite the similar duration #s. This is supposedly why they are such good turbo cams. NA they require cam gears to be used best (from what I read).

To me this combination of the cams pistons revs and (not in this case) cam gears could be something to start thinking about. Definitely a cool build. Get some #s asap.

^That would be great.

^bold red - Thanks

^bold black - I put my engine stand together not to long ago and now I'm waiting for my thermal spacers to get here. I need to talk to calum to see what he can do for me on the ECU side of things. Just got my 8lb. fidzana flywheel and my BC2's in the mail this week. I may order a set of S4's to do a drop in test later on down the road. That way I can compare them to the BC2's with the rest of the parts my setup consist of.

Stay tuned

Even though I think I will be leaning towards going with a Calum Realtime, which E-Management would yield me the most power? Why did you ask me about all the stuff in post #15? Were you referring to the EMS giving me those numbers over the Calum ECU?

^They have UK RR engines? I knew the JDM made them, but wasn't sure about the UK. ALL RR engines are lowports correct? I have a highport so I don't think my engine is a RR.

We got all three, it was in 96 when we changed to the P11 chassis that the UK engines were all RR lowports.

I have three Spraybar lowports.

A highport is good for high rpm monsters as it actually outflows the spraybar lowport head at 9K according to "Bigtoe"

I think that 170whp from a VE with just an intake and 16VE cams is more than you would ordinarily expect. That might not be a good comparison. You do make a fair point. VE needs a switching mechanism $50-100+.

^Hey when I get my S3's to test out vs the BC2's would it still be a bad idea to run cam gears on the S3's? I saw where the lift would make it dangerous on the BC2's, but I'm not getting to many results from searching on the old forum on this topic for a 10.1 motor. Decided to buy the S3's and do my own dyno comparsion, then sale the set I don't keep.

From farther reseaching a tune is a MOST if I want the car to run smooth. I saw where a guy installed cams and a header at the same time only to net only a 3 to 6WHP gain and his mod list is almost identical to mine, minus the .5 compression. I believe you made a post in that thread.

Hi,

well as S3's have less lift and dont need so much overlap you shouldnt get any piston/valve crashes with that combo.

Well there are some monstrous SR20's from the factory. I've heard of pretty much stock motors make about 150whp. Lucky!

Hahahhahahah, how would you like 21MPG? I'm getting that in the city and I don't even have any mods that hurt MPG's, all my mods should help the MPG's (well maybe the 91 Intake Cam is not so great for it lol).

Either best of luck, I wouldn't mind making 170whp, but man that is just expensive. I might just get an Avenier or a BlueBird haha.

i'm running pretty much that setup

97
uk 10:1 lowport
bc stage 2 cams
cai with velosity stack
ssac 2.5 header
no cat
2.5 exhaust with resinator and muffler
flywheel
pullies
intake spacers
calum ecu realtime

someone let me know who in new england to let tune it and i'll get you some numbers

^bold black - I'll think I will get better mileage than that.

^bold red - I don't want to build two turbo cars right now. I would like to have a VE, but I don't want to go backwards right now. Imma work with what I have.

^What about running the BC2's without cam gears for some dyno pulls. Do you think this would be pushing it with the lift they have on the flat top pistons?

^What is the highest you rev to and what ECU are you running? Are the following stock? FPR, fuel pump, injectors, and cam gears?
