Standalones and daily driving dont mix. sure you can do it, but you can also drive an 8 second super stock mustang to work....can. Im not dissing Ben at all....love that hes going crazy with the car. Im just a believer in using the right tool for the job for efficiency sake. a realtime ecu will probably give you everything you want. You can control everything that makes power, fuel and ignition timing. Then you let the ecu control everything else its susposed to like...idle.

On our ITA motor build, we made good power on a dynopac dyno. 150+. ITA motor is stock cams, .5 compression increase, 40overbore, port matching only one inch into the head, and big manly hotshot gen6 header. Around the paddock, its a kitten cause the low load/rpm range is basicly stock. She idles and purrs just fine. Top end you are uncorked.

you want to make power? Ditch that SSAC, get a real header. Thats really where a lot of sr20 power is made. Gen6 is one of the bests. Turbofreak's header is probably top right now. Put that with the most open exhaust you can stand....there's your power.

^Who is making the Gen6 right now? The price range for the turbofreak header is around $600 correct?

^Is this a Gen5? The design looks almost identical to the SSAC.

I have AEM EMS and I don't have all those issues. I did, before taking the time to clean stuff up, but my cold start, high idle and warm start are all great now. Once in a while when I warm start it takes a few extra cranks and a pedal push to get it to fire up. But idle is fine from 25 degrees to 100 degrees.

Couch like i said....it can be done. Not dogging any stand alone. they are cool. but for those 99.99% people out there, its not a perfect solution. Getting a car that is very stock like out of a standalone isnt quick nor easy. I bet you have atleast a hundred hours in that combined...just in tweaking on your settings. It adds up, 30min drive to tweak something...over 3 or 4 days really adds up.

but for the most part a realtime gives you all the functionality of a standalone in terms of controling the current setup. now doing stuff like boost and nos ....is in the works . but yea...stock plugin style is nice. standalone...is hardcore

Oh...no one is making it now, you have to find one used . thats why its hard to get a gen6. we did see significant gains in the gen6. Joe wasnt running it and Greg was...cars were noticably different in power without even getting on the dyno. Joe got his gen6 and its back to a closer race.

like i said getting one is the hard thing, the turbofreak is a bit easier. or you could have someone make up something very similar. its just a series of tubes

I think you should just put the parts on and go to the dyno. I got the thermal spacers NIB. I will give them to you. Cheap power-

Brian Crower Stage 2s
JWT pop-charger
Hotshot Intake
SSAC 2.5
Thermal spacers
Light Flywheel
JWT b15 clutch setup
2.5 VRS exhaust
Nismo FPR and guage
Dyno time
I wouldnt waste money on an ECU.
I made 165 with this setup.
On the S3s I made 167. The S3 motor had a better bottom end.

^Do the thermal spacers have all the hardware with them like the website? Which Nismo FPR did you have? I've see two different kinds. Did you make these numbers on a 9.5 motor? I'm looking to make closer to 180WHP.

yes the thermal spacer comes with everything you need. new studs n bolts and you will also be using your stock gaskets for the IM, also a bypass coolant for the TB, Up to you to, i kept mines but i wished that i did bypassed it . I think i put the gasket-plastic piece-oem gasket. You will have a better understanding when you get the spacers.

The thermal spacers are NIB.
Your setup will make 160-165. Unless you are running a C series cam. It is proven on a stock bottom that is the limit. IF you are expecting 185whp you better go VE if you want to enjoy the car.
I say do your build put the parts I told you and enjoy your car. You have rode in a few of my fully bolted cars so you know the difference.
