Abdielo's Full N/A Build...shhhh +Wet Shot
Little story: So after so many debates/brain burning and searching. I finally decided to build one of my DE's. This is going to happen after I get my car up and running 100% and get it painted from my past car accident.(Bad Car Accident) The car as of now is fixed and running but I have a bad wheel bearing. Once that's fix its painting time and finish upgrading my suspension (hopefully and finally will get some coilovers from @eggman, if not Ksports Kontrol are going in) I'll be making a thread on the rebirth of Gizmo in the members ride section to keep you guys updated on what is happening with the car.

Back to topic so the plan is to build my old SR20DE that got a bad bearing and I'm making this thread to hear you guys opinion on what brands would be better etc.

The engine is going to be taken apart and checked for damage to the block, crank, etc. If the block is bad I'll build the one that is in the car now or buy another DE(probably this is going to be the way) Please don't suggest to go VE and that's it. This going to be a goal that I have in mind. I want to push a DE to its max N/A+Nos on a semi budget build. I want to hit some where around 250-275hp or so. This is going to be my very 1st engine build so this would be my try and error learning experience. Eventually my ultimate goal is to build a VE-T but in a far future. As I buy parts, installs or any updates I will reflect so in this thread to keep you guys posted. I will be marking off everytime I buy a part of the following list.

(*=Notes (X)=part bought)

So the plan is has follow:

SR20DE Lowport
Head Specs:
( )Hot tanked
( )Resurfacing
( )Tomei PonCams
( )Springs & Titanium retainers (BC or Supertech?)
( )In. $ Ex. valves (BC or Supertech?)
( )In. & Ex. valve guides (BC or Supertech?)
( )BC valve keepers
( )Supertech seals
( )Port & Polished
*Probably will also do a angle job

Block Specs:
( )Hot tanked
( )Decking & Squaring
Stock (crank, rods, and pistons)
( )ACL Race Bearings

Nos Specs:
( )(NOS Sniper) 4&6 cylinder Single Fogger Universal Wet Nitrous System w/10lb Bottle or (DynoTune) 4&6 cylinder Single Fogger Universal Wet Nitrous System w/10lb
( )DynoTune Fully Adjustable Bottle Warmer (from 550-1250PSI)
( )DynoTune Bottle Blanket
( )DynoTune Purge Kit
( )DynoTune Blow down Kit
( )MSD 8956 RPM On/Off Window Switch
( )NOS Remote bottle opener
( )Glow Shift Nitrous Pressure Gauge

Fuel Specs:
( )Walbro 255LPH #GSS342 & Installation kit #400-954
( )Adjustable FPR (Nismo, Aeromotive, or a good cheap one.)
*May keep stock injectors, if not I will use VE injectors.

ECU/Gauges:
(X)G20 ECU (Installed)
(X)Apexi SAFC 2 (bought over the time the car was down)
( )Prosport 52mm EVO Series gauges (Oil press, Oil Temp, Water Temp, Fuel Press & Wideband)
( )Glow Shift shift light

Intake Specs:
( )N60/N62 MAF
( )3" BPI Flow stack & filter
(X)Bomz Racing 3" intake (Installed)
( )Stock Mani *just a little machining)
( )Stock TB *Will be sent to 02Induction to do one of there premium TB services (O2Induction)

Exhaust Specs:
( )Tri-Y header or ebay header *depending on how much I got to play with but it will have 2.5 secondary even if I have to mod the ebay one or just save the headache and order a SSAC 2.5 straight from them
( )Full 2.5 exhaust
( )Vibrant 2.5 flat black oval muffler
( )2 12" Vibrant resonator or 1 Vibrant Ultra quiet 14" & 1 12" Vibrant resonator

Ignition Specs:
( )BKR7E/BKR8E
(X)Stock Dizzy or *maybe VE Dizzy if find one cheap and modify to accept USDM cap and rotor
(X)8.5mm Magstar Wires (Installed (never had issues with this wires great wires)
*Will manually change timing. I'm going to mark where is going to be retard, stock, and advance timing like @Vadim did on the how to. So when ever is racing day or my bottle is full retard @6 and for daily use N/A advance @15.

What do you guys think of this list and any input will be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know you all like picts...and me too...lol check the members ride section I just posted my car's build thread. Lots of picts.
and what you think about the valve components what should I go with BC or Supertech.

I'm looking forward to start on this man so bad but painting and suspension got to come first. One at the time but I'm going to be sourcing parts here and there for the mean while.

Sounds like a nice build. Since u are rebuilding u might want to consider new Sr16 pistons to up cr ratio and probably 444 or 555cc inj incase you decide to try E85. Also the inj should have enough capacity for E85 + 100 shot n2o. Mine isn't to different from yours as I have a high port with jwt c2 cams/vs, outlaw phenos, ur udp, eBay 2.5" header, hi flow cat w cutout.

I didn't see what u had for tuning, but aftermarket ecu or something to tune oem ecu is required. If you want something plug and play a used Jwt ecu with 100 shot would fit the bill.

Why do people spend thousands on go fast parts, and skimp on the most important thing; the ECU.

Go realtime, then you don't need to go through the process of reflashing for lots of $$$ everythme you make a minor tweak to your setup.

cough, Nismotronic, cough..

If you look again there is something up there that said ECU/Gaugues:G20 ECU & Apexi SAFC2. Relating the SR16 pistons it would be fun but that's not something from a DE. The whole point in to build a DE to its max N/A on a semi budget build with what it brings except the head. Parts that are only DE or upgraded parts for DE is what I'm mainly going with and I'm not running E85 on this build maybe on my VE-T build in a very far fututre. That's why I stated that if I upgrade injectors it would be for VE injectors but since I'm running a wet shot it wont probably be that necessary I could do it...lets see how it goes on the dyno when I get it dyno with the SAFC2. I'll have 2 different tunes on that SAFC2 sice it allows you to save 2. One for when I'm on the bottle and one for when I'm just all motor and also the SAFC2 helps with wiring the N60/N62 MAF. The G20 ECU has speedlimeter removed and raise the RPMs a little more. Is not like is a VE that I need to rev up so high to get power.

I'm not really expending thousands is a semi budget build I will be gathering the parts around on the classifieds and deals I get form local shops since I know people around town that can give me discounts and looking at different deals I can find.Got to try to stay on a semi budget. Only go fast parts would be the wet shot, cams and the machinery to the heads, etc. When I finish this build I will go all out with the VE-T build with AEM standalone, CP pistons, etc.
