cams in that pic (mine) are 100% s4. Measured about 39.5mm lobe height.

I've looked at a lot of other pics of S4/S3 cams and some have tan paint on them, so I'd say paint, regardless of color, isn't a factor per se.

I got my caliper from harbor freight for $3. Gotta measure them. Only way to tell for sure if you have doubts (probably good to confirm for $3 anyways). You can even do it with the cams installed, just have to remove the valve cover(what I did).

S4: 1.5685", 39.84mm. This is measuring the lobe. These are the measurements I had from Friday of last week. Goomba is right, just get a sliding caliper and measure.

JWT S3R (roller rockers) have 53J - 1 - LD stamps on them.

The "S" makes me think of "S4" but also "KF" makes me think of Kelford. I don't know why JWT just doesn't plainly stamp JWT S3/S4 on their cams in the first place.

Yeah just somewhere, all they'd have to do is write "S3" or "S4" or "C2"
