Transmission leaking internally.
So my clutch exploded last week and just put a new one in. I noticed a large amount of oil inside the bellhousing. I cleaned it out and was looking for a crack and didn't see anything. Replaced the rear main and finished the install. After 60 miles of driving I noticed it was slipping again so I took it easy and let it sit over night. This morning I put it in the lift and drilled 2 holes in the bottom of the housing and about 1/4 quart of gear oil came out. Do you think my input shift seal is no good or could it be something else. It's a p11 base. I also swapped out the axle seals and those are good. Any suggestions?

Seems like it must be the input shaft. I've never heard of one leaking that badly though. How could it have gotten that much worse after the clutch install?

i honestly dont think so. it seems like its been leaking for months. the old clutch used to slip under heavy driving then it started getting engaging problems then it went bye bye. the tranny has been making some weird noises for the last 20k but drives fine. it never went dry on me so i think the bearings inside must be no good. she has 240k on her so i guess it lived a good life.

The leak sounds like the input shaft seal.

The noise is most likely one of the bearings - depending on when it is making the noise can identify which bearing is failing.
