Thread: Distributor cap modification

I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find anything all that helpful. What it the best way to run an external coil on the internal coil distributor? Mainly the coil wire. What kind of cap will work? or What can you do to the factory cap that works best?

If I understand your question correctly, An external coil can take the place of the factory one but not necessary. Since the SR20 can has a coil wire you can run it directly

The highports came with an external coil, you can use one of those and it become straight forward.

Well, I have an ignition box hooked up, works great. I've read, seems like everywhere that the factory ignition is so awesome. I Just need an answer on what dist. cap people are using. Or does anyone know how to wire in a high port dist. to a low port harness?
