map/iat placement itb's
Just wondering how you guys are running the map and iat sensor on itb set ups. I'm hoping to get my engine running this week.

54c head
shaved
ported
53j block
54c head bolts
block drilled for dowel pins
block drilled for 1/2 bots
54c rods
53j pistons
new rings/bearings
Metal hg
54c itbs
4 velocity stacks
8cw crank
54c main bolts
54c girdle
16ve flywheel
I think that's it so far

I was thinking something like this.

If it is NA with no plenum, the map sensor will be useless for you.

This will be cool if you get it figured out

How would the map sensor be useless? if I ran 4 vacuum lines to a vacuum accumulator and hooked the map sensor to it wouldn't that give me an accurate pressure reading.

Without a plenum, no.

Tuning will be a tough task unless you go alpha N.

Re: map/iat placement itb's
Tried using a large vacuum can on my 2.4 with itb what waste of time for the map sensor. Thing went full ambient pressure at like 20-30% tps. U lose a ton of tuning resolution with a map so part throttle things suffer. It also didn't like to hold an idle well because of the intake pulses that don't get dampened unless u have a can the size of a plenum on the car. Swap to tps tuning and was able to get the car to idle and drive like stock.

Just dropped an exhaust valve. fucking awesome. and I might order some cf and try to make a plenum. I can work pretty well with fiberglass so cf shouldn't be much harder. I figure a cf plenum with a 3 inch inlet and 3 inch maf should be good. I really want to go open end itbs but this tuning thing will kill me.

So I will definitely be going the tps tuning route. seems like the best choice. my main issue now is finding someone who will tune it in fl. I am not looking for huge crazy power or anything like that. just a fun dd car. How does tps tuning hold up in weather changes?
