No I wouldn't, that's why I'm for every other year safety inspections. But there's no reason why a brand new car with 6 miles on it needs to be inspected in 10 months from date of purchase. My friend's new 2013 Civic isn't due until 2017. That's more like it. I think the answer is somewhere in between

It all depends on mileage - Some of my cars get less than 1k miles a year put on them while other get 30k+. I have seen people go through brakes in 10k and less. More common, people tend to slap pads over and over again as their is no regulation or inspection in Cali for this. Thus I am for an annual inspection.

Here is an example of a guy that I did brakes on his Jeep Cherokee. 3 months & 3k miles later, he decided to tow a 10,000 lb trailer from San Diego to El Centro over the grade. The trailer did not have trailer brakes installed at all. To stop the vehicle he had to use a run away ramp because he had melted the brakes, literally. The customer was quick to tell me that I had installed the brake pads backwards. One I got his vehicle in and the wheels off to show him what had happened, he quickly changed his story and paid a very large amount of money to fix the problem. I have seen hundred's of car like this over the years. If people don't have to spend the money, they will not.

On this side there was NO rotor left.

Like I said before, do you want this dumb ass driving behind you?

Again, no, I don't want that guy driving behind me. Maybe there should be some kinda of thing where if you go over a certain mileage (that can be tracked via yearly registration renewal with the DMV) you need an enhanced inspection. My uncle had a 2002 Porsche 911 and he put about 400 miles on it - a year.

He sold it in 2012 and it had like 4,000 miles total. It sat in his garage, unmoving and unmodified, but it still needed to be inspected every 12 months if he wanted to drive it.. It's BS

Check electrical connectors and wires.if wires are damaged replace them.plugs broken reconnect wrap with electrical tape so they don't move or find a donor plug.check to see if there as any cracks on knock sensor.

Well i ended up selling the car yesterday to someone who needed a beater. I made a few bucks all said and done and just dont have the time to put in on it due to my other projects. Would have liked to keep it for parts, but I dont have the space to put it and let it sit. I mean most of the time i had it sitting up the street in the parking lot of a local park due to my limited driveway space. Come winter I can't park on the road becuz of snow plowing so theres just no way i'd be able to fit it. Knowing that I wanted to get it sold before the engine or something went bad on it rendering it completely junk cuz I have that kinda bad luck lol. Thanks for the help though guys
