My daily d (b14 130K) with a stock low port, home made CAI, and ebay header got 32mpg mixed city/hwy according to my last fill up. I just took it easy on the gas pedal usually shifting before 3k rpm, no more than 65-70mph hwy, and only ripped on it once or twice a week.

Correct. When you are coasting in gear, the ecu shuts off the injectors. When at idle your car will run at whatever it is tuned at. If any of you have a wide band, watch it. When you are shifting down to a stop the o2 will read lean. If you just put in the clutch...I run at 12.8 at idle when cold and 14.2 when warm.

Haha when I close the throttle during deceleration my A/F goes waaaaay up to like 22.4 which is where the readings max out at 5V.

Normally, I run 12-13.

CovertRussian was on the MPG hunt for a long while there.

Wow, I am getting 25mpg in my SEL with a turbo. I may not be able to brag about ultimate power, but at least I am getting pretty good mileage.

I think leaning her out a bit will help. Idle at 15-16 or so is where I am at, but I have to disconnect my front o2 to hook up the wideband so my readings are prob a lil lower when the o2 is plugged in.

You don't have to tune for one thing or another. An engine is an air pump, making it a more efficient pump means better MPGs (turbo's are great cruisers if you keep them off boost).

I have a feeling these cars can take a pretty lean cruise. In my 280z with a turbo swap, I ran close to 17:1 afr's at cruise. The head on that engine is close to 26 years old, and the design, who knows how much older. With that, I could break into the 30s with the 2.8l cruising at 80 mph.

My B13 SE-R right now just has what appears to be a pop charger and a busted flex coupling on the exhaust. With the tires inflated to 40 psi, I'm seeing about 28 mpg city, driving conservatively shifting at 3k, and trying not to get on it much. The car does see redline at least once every few days, and I make sure the air filter stays clean and the oil changed.

This car gives me 36 mpg freeway, and has even done 38 mpg 3 times on a 4-5hr trip. Right now it's my beater and I deliver in it and am still making money from my mileage payout!

I don't concentrate on mods to get better milage really... the best thing you can do for milage is to follow the speed limit and drive normally. I get 30 mixed now... I still occasionally hammer it as well.

For some reason when I tried to shift at low rpm's and drive slower than normal and not getting on it, I got an even worse 24 mpg.

^^^HA!!!!

Try living where the roads are nice and if you are 1st in line at a redlight you have everyone and there mother on your ass. Then people in fla wonder why gas prices are so f-ing out of control.

When my car was at 218k, all I had was intake and muffler, stock clutch, $8 Denso plugs, Denso OE replacement wires, OE Nissan filter, and I was using Quaker state High Mileage, with a can of restore, and I also used Lucas fuel additive. I had cleaned my MAF with MAF cleaner to get the gunk out, new fuel filter. I drove to Maryland and averaged 30-32MPG on the freeway, cruising between 75-85MPH. In the city I think I get about 25-27MPG.

With my turbo B14 I am getting 250-260whp out of my T25 and I pull 32-34MPG on it.

Coheed - You could do sooooo much better without that JWT ECU.
