Yes i did take your picture as i thought is was the best from what i have before, and thanks for chiming in,i guess the chain will still be a little slack due to the tensioner not getting any oil when cranking ??
this is very important.
if your counting teeth (not links),then at tdc, looking from the rhf guard at the same horizontal height as the top of the head with the rocker cover off, you should count 5 teeth,21 teeth,9 teeth. as per this diagram.
are you positive? the ninth tooth is (slightly) below parallel on the exhaust side (as per diagram). if this is true, you should have 5,22,8. if your positive then you need to skip a tooth back.
if you've got 5,21,? at tdc, the links are right. its that simple.
this may be a stupid question, but after installing the new tensioner you did "unhook" it so it's pressing against the chain now?
Yes i did unhook it,but i still have this slack even after turning it over by hand many times,it so slack its just skipping teeth on the spockets,so i have to do the timing again tomorrow as its out by 1 tooth again now LOL after hand cranking it.
Any reason why the tensioner will not lock against the chain,it will rest against it but not lock it self when the chain is rotating !
