Whats happened is, the competition has caught up and far surpassed the good old modded SR20DE with bolt ons. But it wasn't always this way. Back in the late 90's.. a modded SE-R would take pretty much anything out in a race, except for of course a Vette or Porsche or something. I remember my first 91 SE-R, all bolt ons, destroyed all my friends' cars, every Honda, Acura, Toyota or whatever they had. Those cars are all gone now, and are all replaced by much more powerful and efficient engines. I mean hell, back then the Honda Accords would get smoked, and now they come with what 355 hp or something?

You guys still sleeping on the DE...The DE could be a monster if funds are right and the mec is right is all about how much you want to spend really.

I humbly disagree with the n/a DE is dead talk. And anyone thinking a budget built DE is a waste of time should grab a ride come convention time.

Just Sayin

Like I said a DE can be a monster is all about how much you want to spend if you in budget then there are other options and still a budget DE you can still get to the 200 with the right parts, mec, & tune....at the end of the day is all preference and $$$.

I guess it all depends on your definition of a "budget build"

I guess I'm late to the party, but I was going to suggest a light flywheel.

As for the turbo setup... WTF are you doing with a RWD exhaust manifold?
