Best n/a header?
Been out in the game for a while... Last time I was heavy into research IIRC the budget header ASP/ Fujitsubo or whatever it is were the two high scorers in terms of power. I am sure there was a signature edition ASP header too but nobody had got that due to price

Still the same?

Depends on the budget. Gotta pay to play!

you could wait for one of the new marsh headers that the rest of the whole world is waiting for...

For under a grand, my vote goes to the ASP budget header. Some people didn't experience gains but I sure did! The second best mod I ever made to my car, next to a lightweight wheel/tire combo. I pulled away from cars I didn't think I could and I attribute it to that header (with supported mods of course). It just makes power to redline and beyond. Haven't heard about that marsh header yet but I know it would be backed by much experience and trial and error.

In all honesty man, I would invest money into a nice intake manifold versus a header. The header will only help so much. The stock IM is the choke point for us. No, don't bother with the N1. Custom built.

agree 100% ASP budget header takes my vote. however john, id upgrade those cams of yours first maybe.

UKDM RR DE - from an 2.5' ebay header, 2.25' exhaust, afpr and panel filter - fitting the ASP budget header, 2pc UR pulleys and Tomei Poncams i gained 30hp on the same dyno.

"Best" is a relative term. 10 years ago, the argument would have been the 4-2-1 Hotshot header vs. the AEBS 4-1.

Neither are made anymore and if you find any they are likely to be old and in poor condition.

Best depends on what your other modifications are and what you're willing to spend.

I have every bolt on my 97 SE-R and the OBX header was the cheapest of all the modifications, from eBay, for like $160 dollars.

I also have a 92 SE-R with the VE engine and have the JSP header which runs something like $800. But for that engine, it works. So it all depends on your circumstances.

johnbr6 has a UKDM RR DE, engine mods:

Apexi filter
CAI
AEM Bypass valve on the CAI
Powerflow mandrel bent exhaust
Fidanza lightened and balanced flywheel

with a documented 186bhp

So wait, he already has the Hotshot header? Or am I missing something

Also.. not calling BS.. but 186 hp at wheels.. on a DE with just bolt ons? and the only internal work is the cams? Nothing else? I don't know. that must be one hell of a tune. what kind of ECU?

On my 97 SE-R DE I have a CAI, OBX header, 2.5" exhaust, JWT ECU, Tomei cams, G-spec underdrive pulley, Exedy clutch, timing @ 19.. makes 162hp @ wheels. I know the RR DE engine makes a few more HP than the non RR DE but 27 is a lot..
