Thread: Near stall after i push in the clutch

It drops down in rpms after i push in the clutch to where it almost stalls. It only does it after I drive in gear, then push in the clutch like when I'm coming to a stop. Could it be plugs?

Ok no one has answered yet so I'll give it a shot haha. Sounds like it could be a vacuum leak, and also check your coolant temp sensors. How does it idle other than when you let off the gas?

It could be the plugs but you did just replace them didn't you?

Do these steps exactly

Set TPS Sensor
Set base timing
Set Base Idle (IACV)

IF that doesnt do it, pressure test the system and look for vacuum leaks. If none found check the check air valve for brake booster and check PCV valve along with O2 sensor and ignition parts.

I had this problem til last night

what happened was the car would splutter and almost stall when im coming to a stop, even in neutral.

i noticed when it did this my injectors were squirting 3x more petrol than normal at idle and that the maf was reading 0.3v higher at idle than normal (i have a pda in my car with ecutalk).

so i went home and sprayed the crap out of the maf with CRC MAF Cleaner and it now idles sweet as a nut. I suspect that i overoiled my k&n and it contaminated the MAF

I'm having the same problem, but the idle is fine otherwise.

I also suspected the MAF and it looks like you just confirmed it.

That is a VERY common problem with K&N filters. People put to much oil and then don't let them properly dry before installing. This causes oils to coat the hotwire in the maf.

I still have my sock air box, but after opening it up I saw that it has a K&N filter in it.
