I have heard, and this is part of why I joined this forum, to get info from people who know instead of speculate, but I have heard that the ve head will not go on the rear wheel drive motor..

Does anyone know for sure?

it will go on, it just takes a little extra work/money on the rwd motors. Take a look on mazworx website, they have RWD VVL conversion bits.

So what I am seeing is a kit to put a NEO VVL SR16/20VE head on a RWD SR20DET...

Pricy, but doable.. Also, I'm guessing that does not include a head? Only problem is I don't want to go turbo... Yet..

I'm sending off an e-mail tonite to see what they say about a NA motor. One of my main goals with this car is to keep it streetable. Nice part of the old car it's in is that smog is not a consideration. It just needs to run nice enough to be able to drive in LA traffic..

With a tuned VE you could be over the 200WHP+ mark NA, depending on how deep you want to go. It seems more parts are coming out for the VEs so 250WHP will not be hard to do.

With the S4s you are looking at 175WHP range.

I have the NEMU board from JK tuning and it is easy to use and has tons of great features.

So I got an answer, the VVL head can go on the RWD motor, and they say the kit works on a NA motor as well.

Looking at the parts required, this would be a huge money swap, several thousand dollars.

After the money put into the SR swap already this year, I think I want to spend less. I think I'm headed more toward my original ideas this year.

I'm thinking the S4 cams, and I'm thinking of trying to get one of the armonics headers that's in this thread, and cutting off the 90 at the bottom and welding it back on in the right direction. (does anyone know if those are reasonably available? It looks beautiful, and it has to flow better than the stock Sentra ser manifold)

Once I get cams and a header, I'll look into a programmable ECU..
