92mm daily drive
Now that a few guys have gone 90 and 92mm, I'd like to know how reliable such a setup is for a daily drive for example?

I don't daily my car everyday, but I do do the occasional 1 hour and 2 hour trip with it, and then general light traffic. Would a 92mm build hold up in such conditions? 90mm? Or should I just go with some N1 pistons rather?

I've done a ton of street driving with my big motor.. reliability has been just as strong as the 2.0. Id say go for it, just maybe consider going 90-91 since the big mazworx gasket is not meant fir 92mm bore. Doesn't mean it wont work, just not for re use, with me atleast... but then again if you go with a stepped deck that may not be an issue.

Thanks Cory.

Waiting now to hear waht the price difference is with the 92mm pistons.

Maybe I'll play it safe and go 90mm, let's see.

With these big bores, do larger supertech valves justify their price? Anyone compare +1mm/+2mm setups to +1mm/+1mm ones?

Depends on the set up. I know for me using a plenum so far the std valves have done better.

Yeah lol I drove my 2.3 5 hrs to an event, ran 11.6@116 and drove it home. Lol love the reliability our motors!

My 2.3 has been reliable as hell. Coolant temps are solid and so far the VET gasket has been holding up great. I just don't daily mine due to the fact the car is open header and is gutted to all hell. She is just my weekend toy.

That's good to know guys. You are making me think now.

And this is all without any oil coolers? I'm kinda concerned that my VE doens't have one. My DE used to have the water/oil cooler stock.

Cory do you use a bored out VET gasket on your build? How far do you bore it to?

No im using the maxworx prw gasket. I would use a vetl gasket bored to 92mm but I dont trust it on MY block. My block was done before mazworx was stepping the deck. On a stepped deck I think bored vet gasket is the way to go...
