I think this is the million dollar question. At what point does it become required. And has anyone calculated the actual clamping force increase you gain between the 11 and 12mm studs.
I've had a few failures on a sleeved sr20 block and was wondering if this mod will help. But I can't see a n/a motor on pump gas needing more than what a good GE stud can provide already.
Also, I've seen someone tap right into the water jacket accidentally when modding the block for the 12mm studs. Would hate that to happen on a $$$ block.
