The Phantom grip friction style LSD works decent in the GA16. I used the stiffest springs and mine offered decent lock-up for years in drag and road racing. With one in my GA16 I was able to cut consistent 1.80 60' times on slicks. You can also shim it as well. I always thought about machining the side of the spider gear that contacted the Friction plate surface so that it contacted a greater surface area and then shimming it out.

Also are you SURE you are running a 3.3 60'? Even with the stock open diff I cut 2.1 60' times on the OEM tires.

Well with the current seeting of my 2 step i used to have a 2.2 60ft with a 22 inch tire. On the same set up i was running a 3.3 no clue why. Im going out tonight again to figure this crap out

I had a JGY, Phantom style with Green/strong springs in my B15 LSD. After a year of the VE in the B15, I think both were pretty worn for anything but rain and light driving. The stock VLSD seemed fine with the stock RR sr20. The diff was still OK, just very little lockup.

Now that I feel this newer P11 '00-02 VLSD in my P11, wow. Stays locked with one wheel on gravel and one on pavement and holds most of the power of a strong stock VE. I think the variable camber on the McPherson style cars kills VLSD. My B15 always had one tire worn more than the other and with a used car or unit, you never know if someone drove it with a small spare on the front. With the P11 both front tires have looked the same for the last 2 sets and 3 years.
