I run NGK-R plugs almost exclusively. Don't mess with Platinum unless your 08 Impala needs a new set...

i pulled my plugs today and noticed the insulator looks burt up where it meets the metal and there is a green haze on the electrode.

I'll also add that i'm a plug changing junky. Since the plugs I use (NGK) are so cheap I usually replace them often.

Run copper, you are better burning a plug than a piston or valve.

How to justify when we should change the plug?

I change mine about every 4-6 months. Best $10 you can spend!
