Show em whats up with the efficient vvl! I would love to have a sr16 swap in like a b13 4 door daily driver! Im all about keeping my primaries first. Fuel efficient SR and then a play car.

Well be careful with the whole 1600 shipped thing as well. Unless you know someone that has bought from the company before.

example: My sister in law ran her MR2 into the ground. It finally quite on her when she decided to keep driving it while it was overheating. Well I decided the cheapest route to go would be rebuild the block and buy a reman head. Well I decided I would go the with the cheapest I could find which happened to be this company called ASAP Motors. Well what they sent was something that looked like it just came from the scrap yard not reman at all. Sent it back they painted it (springs and all) and called it reman. I just said F it at that point and rebuilt the head myself costing me more. However, the guy that bought the car liked my work so much he had me rebuild his 1JZ in his old supra. That was fun

keep up with who? anyone with a decently bolted on DE will walk you..

my friends sr16ve (whole swap) with I/H/E, Gspec pulleys and light weight flywheel pulled the same exact times and mph in the 1/4 mile as he did with a bone stock de with stock exhaust, no header, no pulleys no light weight flywheel, it only had a hot shot wai.

had his de had all the same bolt-on's as his 16ve he'd have walked all over himself..

however he does get really really good mpg's 38-45mpg depending how he drives, long freeway trips are always pushing 45mpg

I love the sounds of the millage it's making. And for a 1.6 i think its fairly good. But i always thought the sr16's were faster than the DE's. Higher compression and vvl. Thought they made about 160hp. I guess with all that it equals to a 2.0. good to know

Well, it made more Hp yes, 159whp on a dynojet. however it only made like 115wtq, we never dynoed the car before the 16ve install, so who knows what that DE was makin, but it was a jdm engine.

the car runs extremely well, we used the factory 16ve ecu but we used the de distributor an harness an all that.. swear to god it runs as well if not better then a stock se-r

itll be about as quick as a de with bolt ons.

1600 for a full 16ve with tranny isnt a bad deal. i paid i think 1200 or so for my 16ve/tranny set up.

get it.

drop the pans, slap in a 86mm crank, de or 20ve rods, notch the pistons, reassemble and itll be a great running motor, with great power.

i should have done that years ago, when i bought mine.

stratton.

Maybe, just Maybe, if the 16ve was tuned, an not just on a factory 16ve ecu.. it would have done better.. but i've seen with my own eyes that a bolted on 16ve se-r is only as fast as a DE with only intake in that same se-r both engines were ran off factory ecu's.

but then if you tuned the 16ve it would only be fair to tune the de.. an i think once you start throwin bolt ons at the de like what i mentioned before, plus maybe some cams the 16ve would be history!
