loss of power from 5-6rpm
Hey guys just tryin to get some ideas here,

I have a 96 200sx 2.0L with 2.5" header and 2.5" front to back ekhaust W/ test pipe.

When I put it under high load I lose power at about 5000 rpm and get it back at about 6000 rpm. I have replaced the plugs (Irdm) replaced wires, cap, rotor regrounded mas and cleaned and new O2 sensor. So I'm thinking it would be fuel related, so possibly weak pump or fuel press reg, tps?

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks David

I'm surprised your motor even runs at 5-6rpm? Hell even IDLE is supposed to be around 750-850!

Sorry I had to.

1 - Get rid of Iridium plugs. Go NGK copper. Cheaper, and better.
2 - What wires? Please tell me OEM/Sumitomo.
3 - Check TPS. .45~.46vdc closed, around 4.1vdc WOT
4 - Check timing with gun in timing mode

Wires are oem
Last time I had car on the scaner it said timming was 15

and about the idle, my car won't idle below 1100 rpm

Just because a scanner says your ignition is at 15 degrees doesn't mean your physical timing is actually at 15 degrees. Put the car in timing mode and check with timing light.

timing mode is get eng warm idle at or below 1000 rpm disconnect tps rev to about 3000 rpm and then it should be in timing mode? will my high idle effect my timing adjustments if I have to adjust the timing?

With engine warm, start car. Rev above 3krpm three times, letting revs drop to idle in between each instance of 3krpm. Shut car off. Disconnect TPS. Start car.

Car is now in timing mode. Check idle speed and adjust with IACV, then check base timing with timing light. Set to 17 ± 2 degrees.
