dont powdercoat your valve cover, its almost impossible to remove all the dust/grit from the baffles which can do baaaaaaaaad things to your engine

VHT 1600deg paint works great on heat shields.. I painted an exhaust mani shield over year ago & still looks as good as when I took it out of the oven. Just have to follow the instructions on the can & bake/cool down for 3 cycles. Not sure how well it will hold up on a header though.

i decided for now i wont coat it, i will rig up the stock heat shield to go around the headers, also have to get two of the pipes welded shut at the seam on the header plate as its leaking.. not much but i see it where its turning black
