Thread: rwd sr20de questions ..

Ok so I have finaly got off my lazy ass and got motivated in a power plant on my 71 510 . Or maybe because my mother inlaw wants its out of her garage lol. Anyway I scored a black top rwd sr20de that has some sort of tommei cams in it and greddy cam gears and pulleys . Now my question is im not sure what spec these cams are and the guy dont speak english that well so he has no clue . What markings should i be looking for to identify these ? Also the motor has a bad head gasket so i will be removing it to be resurfaced and drop in a new ve-t gasket . But i might toss in some VE pistons to bump up compression while I'm at it . So will the pistons need valve cuts for clearence or it it the same as fwd de's . Its a 9.5.1 motor from what i have researched. And what power can be made on the rwd de's I shooting for 160ish . Also looking at maybe going ITB's and standalone down the line . Any info or feed back would be much appr.
