This is very true. Seems like all properly modified SR20 engines like a larger exhaust to breath, especially with NOS, although I went 3 inch for turbo purposes.

did he SAY anything about cams ecu cai, pulleys etc? No, and even WITH s4's, that ecu, hs header, and cai, 3" is STILL way too much. IF (and really let's be honest, with the question posed like it was do you really think he does) he has NOS, then he would have likely known enough about everything else to not need to ask such a question in the way he did. He's looking for a bolt on header like everybody does when they are starting out, and 2.5" is THE largest he needs. Even WITH a VE, 2.5 is fine for both exhaust dp and headers, as most people would rather less drone and the few hp less. BUT, again, this is a typical 92 b13. C'mon guys, steer the guy honestly, don't gum it up needlessly and make him confused, we're trying to avoid folgers can ricers here.

yeah if you want to choke the motor

you did more harm then good posting your false info so maybe you should not steer him in the wrong direction.

and going 3" doesnt make you a ricer cause most likely you will be upgrading along the way so instead of spending money twice just get a 3" and be done with it

I didn't suggest he get a 3 inch exhaust, I simply pointed out why I chose VRS and where he could get a good price.

Almost all threads lead to a discussion among members that sometimes wander from the original purpose. That simply happened once again here.

Now he has some different opinions and little searching will help him decided what will suit his goals best.
