O ok never had one and now probably won't get one. IMO the best muffler is a turbo

I need a recommendation for another muffler that is quieter, even if it has a silencer in it.

I don't want to go to a stock muffer and choke off the engine (have JWT cams, JWT pistons, CAI, Header, etc)

I want something fairly quiet and not ridiculously expensive.

I've read the whole thread, do you have a resonator? I did not see it mentioned.

If you do not have a resonator, that is one problem right there.

I have:

SSAC header > 2.5" in/out cat> Magnaflow 18" resonator > Vibrant Stealth 2.5" Flat Black

It is quiet and very civil below about 4K, I love that it virtually disappears below the car. However, it is just a bit louder than I would prefer when I get on it, or when cruising along above 4K'ish. Not bad by any means, but I am an old fart and am not interested in any undo attention when planting my right foot.

Is that the one on your B14?

I would say this all depends on the set up. I had a custom 4 to 1 header with a 3" mandrel bend into a 3" Vibrant and in NA form it was the loudest my car has ever been since I have owned it.

Maybe it was the set up or some resonators could help.

See my previous post above.

Resonator. Yes. Definitely. No doubt.

I've thought about doing this when I go VE:

Perhaps copying that set-up, except keeping the system all 2.5" in/out.
