Thread: Starter solenoid or igniton switch?

This isn't on my SR20 but its on an RB20DE. A car in which I want to use whilst I get rid of my SR20.

How can I tell whether the ignition switch or the starter solenoid is at fault?
I turn the key and nothing happens just makes a single click, my car has the same problem however it eventually starts after it makes bout 6 - 10 clicks changes every time although most of the time it starts first go. However this other car it just makes the single click no matter how many times i turn it. Is it a complete faulty ignition switch or starter solenoid?

check the battery connections an the connections on the starter, i bet its the solenoid on the starter, But it could very well be the switch.. easy test is to hot wire it with a push button.. if it does the same thing well its more then likely the starter.
