Thread: 00 01 Sentra 2.0L Starter same as b13??

Hey guys, i have a starter going out.. Does anyone know if the b15 2.0L starter is the same or interchangeable with the rest year vehicle, b13 chassis to be specific.?

Actually, I had this problem very recently. I was sent a starter from a b13 that was very different from the one I pulled out of my 96. My buddy is a nissan tech and we tried for over an hour to make it work and we could not. Call your local auto store and have them search both cars and they will pull up two different parts for the sr20. Not sure on the b15 part but I am just telling you my experience.

A B13 starter and B15 starter are completly diffrent.

+1 I had starter issues with my b14 before, i dont have a RR motor, but i have a lowport motor. The guy sold me a highport starter (out of a p10) and for whatever reason, the starter died in 1 day. It turned out my original lowport starter had a 10 tooth sprocket while the highport starter he gave me was a 9 tooth sprocket.

I thought all p10s were lowports

P10 91-93 highport
P10 94-96 lowport

yea, my interchange here at work says 91-95 Sentra 2.0L ONLY. 96-98 200sx, 98 99 sentra, and 99 g20 are the same.

All FWD starters will work on all chasis, even though the starters are diffrent.

How do I know. I sell used starters
