^That sounds about right since 1mm wouldn't change much at all. I'm considering the 16ve pistons now. It wouldn't be that much harder to drop the oil pans and swap some pistons. So, what CR would regular 16ve, and N1 pistons yield in a DE? From what I read those have different CR.

16ve pistons will be 11:5:1 iirc. Deck the block deck the head and try and to get closer to a 12:1. Ported head ssac 2.5 header, 2 1/4 exhaust, pop charger and a tuned ecu. Your s4 cams 17 degrees timming and you could crank out 180 whp. Rev to 8k all day. Would be a very fun cheap ! Motor !.

Stratton.

Well that sounds right nice After all of this I'll be getting tuned. I got a nistune on the last GB. I've got a SSAC dumping into a big ass 2.5" magnaflow glasspack then out the side. I'll be upgrading to a N60 and bigger intake soon. It's fun as is now, but a lil more fun is always better.

Would anymore HP be fouind if you dumped the S4 and went with the C2 for this build?...just curious. Im saving my pennies for a ve or a nice streetable DE.

Sure. How much, IDK? They are a bigger cam. You have to use S&R with these. Not sure if it has to be JWT or not? Check their site. I hear the idle is high with these, like 1000-1100 I think. These are race cams, high RPM.

You're welcome. I don't know how lopey a C series will be, but my S4a are. Sounds like a cammed up 5.0. I still have my idle at 750-800. Yours will be higher.

I have C3's and idle at 850rpm, its choppy but still stable, its also very streetable.

If you want decent power from a DE, i wouldnt personally mess around with S Series cams.

If you are happy with upto around 160whp with simple bolt ons, (which is fine by the way,) S4's will get you there.

S4's wont put down 180whp with 11:1CR+...they will make 170whp at very best. If you are going to raise the CR. you might aswell put some better cams in there too.

C2's and 11:1CR will get you upto around 180whp.

C3's, 11:1CR and headwork and you can make 190whp+.

All of the C series cams will make more torque after 3500rpm than any of the S series cams.
