on another note, his roommate made him some egr block off plates and powder coated them as well as his water pump pulley

That DE with the VE bottom end is going to feel really good. Some nice cams and a flywheel and it will give some VE's a hard time. You can really feel the difference from a 4cw to a 8cw crank.

well he was suppose to send me pics to show, but the engines like 90% ready to put back in.. just need to tighten a few bolts, run the engine harness an we're going to drop it in from the top because i dont have access to anything to get the car high enough in the air to slide the engine under thats fine tho, been there done that i know the drill.

we're going to pull the spark plugs, and fuel pump fuse and crank the engine over until oil comes out of the cam oilers.. might take a while, might not.. guess we'll see.. we really dont want to run the engine without KNOWING that is has oil pressure.. even tho i used alot of assembly lube lol (pulling the spark plugs allows the engine to crank over faster because of no compression)

speaking of compression im going to test it also after it runs for a little bit..

Itttss alive!!
she started up the first try!!! but before we started it we left the v/c off and turned the engine with no spark plugs for a few mins (only a few seconds at a time then we would let it sit) until oil came out of all the cam oilers then we finished up an she fired first time! purrs like a kitten albeit loud with open downpipe lol but it was nice to hear it run

p.s we did drop it in from the top, no big deal it was easier for us to do it that way This time.

heres the pics i promised, sorry couldn't take more we were to greasy to operate the cam most the time lol

sr20ve 4cwc vs sr20de 8cwc

cleaned up a little getting ready for its new to it internals

head waiting to be put back in

ready for the cams

intake ready to be put on with its nice new egr block off plates

tranny bolted on just hooking up the starter

oops upside down land!

getting ready to go in

hungry engine bay waiting for its meal

nom nom nom

i think this cars had so many engine swaps that bolt of the front cross member bolt holes were completely stripped out.. so i grabbed some extra (i have tons) engine/tranny 17mm bolts and finally found some use for a few of my Standard sockets that never get used.. LOL!

yes thats super ghetto i know i know.. we will drill a hole or cut a hole so we can just run bolts with nuts and washers, but for a ride around the block with open downpipe at midnight.. PRICELESS!!

Josh you need to change your name to frankenstein buddy. Wish I could of made it over but I had to finish my front flaps myself cuz Chris had to get his girl from work, so it took me a while with my back and a blanket on the ground. Bet seans happy, since we all know it blows when u don't have ur Sr20 fix for awhile.

I know man I'm a mix matchin fool.. Its like I'm in the matrix rewriting the code haha

Sean was very happy to hear her run again, he was all smiles we took a small ride in it with no exhaust but he was scared to get on it with it bein just put together but when I go over monday to tidy up a few lose ends an put the exhaust on I'm going to run it through its paces! If it breaks well guess it wasn' meant to be lol but I think its gonna be just fine.. I

It even idles better with the egr an extra vac lines an shit gone its really basic..
