compression has nothing to do with fuel

Without new rings and a fresh hone, they won't seal and you'll be stuck with that compression.

VE pistons do not yeild a higher compression than DE pistons. Might actually be just a tad lower due to the valve notches. The dish in the pistons are the same.

Uhh if you had read what I said you would have seen that the number 1 injector isn't working right thus causing the car to run on only 3 cylinders which is why its running like shit.. I'm pretty sure the compression has nothing to do with that one injector not working right..

Have you tries supplying 12v to that injector by itself? The click should be quite audible wit the car off.

BTW if old rings were used and no hone, give it a few thousand miles off easy and then slightly loaded throttle. The engine will tighten up. I did this on my old VE/DE worked out fine. I dropped a VE head on a DE block, I had to swap out the pistons because the DE was a 10:1. I dropped in a set of regular VE pistons with the old rings, slapped them in with no hone. About a thousand miles later the motor was tighter and picked up some power. Just give it some time.

If you swapped out the injector im sure its a broken wire at the injector clip of the #1. with the injector plugged in give each wire to that injector a nice hard tug holding it as far away from the injector clip as you can. I can bet you one of the wires breaks apart. Seen it way too many times especially if its a very intermittent thing. Sometimes full on mis. other times misfire, others running fine. Broken wire under the wire insulation.

Agree with this too.

cool man thanks for the info

we did do a slight hone on the block, i mean very slight.. got the 45* cross hatches an all that stuff.. this engine in its current configuration only as 40-50 miles on it.

i will report back when i find out more.

ok so found out why #1 cylinder was fuckin up, ok well not Exactly why but we did get it runnin better..

turns out when the engine got warm the #1 cylinder would stop working an make the car run like absolute dog shit well it turned out to be the spark plug.. now im not sure why when it got warm it would mess up, it was the plugs that were in the engine originally that wern't very old.. we found this out by putting a new plug in that hole..

took the car for a spin an while its only a de it does kinda get on it.. idk if its better then ever lol.. but better then when we first got the car running thats for damn sure..

we just have a few things to tidy up an he's gonna drive it until it blows or until he gets another engine which should be soon we're hoping lol

Glad you found out the issue, now if you keep having issues with that plug fouling out you will need to look deeper at the issue. I have a feeling there may have been something else wrong that caused it but hopefully it was just a one time thing.
