Yup exactly, unless you stick in DET pistons into it. Which means $300 ontop of the $700 for rebuild. Which is honestly a waste of time unless you are boosting.
You should be more then fine with 87 gas and just about all bolt on you throw at it (might as well add pulleys to that list, flywheel is another good one but might render you with lower MPG's). When you start spinning the distro cap or get a tuned ECU, that's when you need to sip the expensive drink.
