What wheels did it have? What did the dead dog do at the same track? I assume it was faster

It doesnt matter.

Its all about transmission gears, not an engine!

I know DOGII had 17" Volks when it was built and in previous races. OGDOG had 15" volks. Likely borrowed those for DogII and learned how much it helped gearing.....

Glad to hear Dog II is kicking ass!

I have the 4:40 final drive on order so the 17" won't suck as bad. The 15" have a hard time living. Dog 1 ran a 1:36 flat but that was with a different engine with only 155 hp and with RA-1's that don't have nearly the same amount of grip as the C51's.

i was thinking of putting a higher ratio final drive in my se-r, but i was wondering how it would be on the freeway. going 80, i think im around 3800 rpm. how much higher would my rpm go if i put in a 4.40 final drive?

4.4 FD is nice.. but for like daily car. Race car needs something much more different.
Is it hard to get custom gears build in USA? Or is it that expensive? Because not a lot (maybe nobody) doing it there...

As I'm sure you know, that is how most people do it. Wes is just a last bastion hold-out? ;P

Luckily MotoIQ even has the topic covered.
Technobabble: Your Mama Can't Drive > MotoIQ > Magazine Articles

Old style for slender feet and/or widely spaced pedals typically found on old cars.

New style (since the 60's?) for people with normal sized feet and cars with "properly" placed pedals.

But you wouldn't know anything about that site, would you Mike?

I see wes and I talked about the different styles a while back too.
