Eh actually they are pretty cheap if you look around you can find places that have clean VE's for probably under $1000 shipped to you and have videos of them doing the compression testing etc..

That's not cheap buddy. How big of a difference does it make that makes it worth a whole another grand?

Btw David, why do you say no ITBs for a daily driver? So for the wear or shit gas mileage or...?

You make no sense.

1k for a superior motor is too rich for your blood yet you want to spend over 3k on a stroker kit for a de?

And a ITB setup which normally requires a standalone for a map sensor since you can't run a maf?

And the cost of shipping your block to JWT or Mazworks because they have the proper torque plate to bore.the block for sleeves without distorting, plus the cost of all the machine work.

Sounds like a lot more research is in order.

A block is a block, going to get boared out anyway. I don't mind picking up the VE head.

I have 3 SR20DEs with three different problems...rather use what I can from that...can you see where I am coming from?

3K on that kit ain't bad for me, it's the whole thing just get extra small stuff.

As for ITBs, the cost vs hp gain...I might not go for it..but clearing up space looks so nice!

There are advantages to picking up a complete VE over a DE including (but not limited to) 4cw crank, piston oil squirters, better flowing head, oil feed for VVL already there and a few others.

Forget the stroker kit, you can do a 2.3ve overbore for cheaper and pick up a sr16VE to do it on, you will still be below or around the price of the stroker kit. Keep the sr16 cams for now and upgrade later on. See if you can get a good deal on a asp budget or just run a ssac or custom built locally for now for a header.
You will have a much better starting point and be able to be in the 230whp range depending on budget, header choice and with a custom intake and properly matched header and better cams down the rd, 260 plus is not out of the question.
Forget stroking the DE, you will have better luck with a stock sr20ve, proper header and N1 cams with 3in exhaust. You will make more power than a stroked de and it will be more fun to drive. 200whp or so depending on header and intake manifold design.
