We're back to another type of "why mod a Sentra" question?

lol. I've had 6 Sentra SE-R's and two B14's, all but 2 were modified, some heavily. I never asked "why mod a Sentra" - I'm just questioning the value ($8,000?) of putting the VQ motor in one, when there's two major other options with 1000x the information and products, VE or DE-T swap.

But hell, if you have the money to spend, go for it. None of my business what you do with your car. I like vanilla ice cream better than chocolate. I like standing on the beach rather than swimming in the ocean. Everyone's different.

Not really sure where you're getting $8k for a vq swap... I have everything I need short of headers and one mount to put a vq in my p10 and I have not yet crossed the $1000 mark... that's motor, tranny, axles, harnesses, ecu, clutch, flywheel, crossmember, hydro clutch parts, starter, alternator and so on... if you know what you're doing this can be done for about the price of a ve swap and while you might not make the ultimate HP of a worked to the nuts ve, a little more tq in a light body is fun as hell... and as far as speed goes, stock vq35 b15s were running 12.80s like 7-8 years ago, not a lot of stock VEs doing that...

Different strokes for different folks though

I believe that was the same argument when people started swapping in those low-torque VE motors...

Saw it here in this thread, someone said it would be 6-8k or something if they did the swap for you, no idea

I'd just like to say,

S13 shell ~$1000

Totaled 03-06 gto ~$3500

Sikky mount kit, sway bar, and master cylinder ~$3500

Miscellaneous stuff ~$1000
---------------------------------------------------------------------

LSx 240sx for about $9000, give or take. Fairly easy to keep a/c and power steering, nice and reliable, less than 3000lb curb weight, RWD, gobs of torque and horsepower in stock form, ~22-24mpg, not to mention the 240sx already has a 4.08 rear end and has nearly endless potential.

For those who don't know, the aluminum block LS1 and T56 transmission only weigh about 80lbs more than a KA24DE w/ trans. Also, the Sikky mount kit puts the engine lower in the car and closer to the firewall to actually give the car a better than stock weight distribution.

Just throwing this out there for others to ponder. At this point, I'm wondering why my 92 sentra makes 400hp, still looks ugly as shit, and has zero traction.

Sorry this is COMPLETELY off topic.

hooker makes a lsx swap kit too. even cheaper than the sikk kit.

the fwd vq's have vct? I know the rev up and the other newer vq's have them. seen people put down 300whp with the stock rev up motors with bolt on's. in a 240.

right now i have a stock vq30 in my b13 4 door xe, and i've owned and driven every factory cam and trans sr combination and nothing wakes up faster than the vq, not even my 4.75 fd p12 n1 cammed ve, nor the sr16 trans with mfactory 4.78 fd, the torque is boisterous, all the b13/14 chassis that have done the vq35 swap and tuned all run 12sec quarter mile or 108-110mph trap speed, saying that to say if it even never performed which it does i'ld still do it to have something different. my na sr endeavours are still ongoing. I'm just doing it in a chassis that grants me a major power to weight advantage (k10 nissan march),
