I think the vqs are great. But now people are finally spending a lil $$$ on the qr25de. Point is, there are a couple full body qr25de 2800-2900lbs spec-v sentras running 13.2 @102mph with jwt cams,I,h,e with 2009qr25de pistons with a stock clutch and safc tune. Imagine that motor in a b13 or b14 it would mid to low 12s with about 108mph trap or more ijs.... . Supposedly the car only made 210whp and 203Tq with just a safc on 93oct. But I find it weird to drop those kinda times in the 1/4mile maybe 220whp or so I say

Yeah but 210-220whp out of a full bolt on 2.5L is not very impressive. That and they dont like to rev much past 6800-7k rpm even with springs and retainers. There is still a lot of R&D work that needs to be done for that swap to even be considered. We have 2.0 ve's now making 220+whp with a much much fatter powerband and be capable of mid 12's.

One day Ill build a nice fully built, sleeved, stroked, High Comp 4.1L VQ and throw it in a b13 and see what happens. Maybe 380-400whp N/A, now that would downright be fun.

get your point alex, but i've been through six ve motors and am at the point where i've driven every stock cam, tried 4 different headers 20v included, used all the sr boxes sr16 and 20v included, nitrous and after all this (2 spun bearings, 3 valve train failures, and 2 smoking motors(rings and damaged valve guide) I want something worth the effort,

each time the motor has to be lifted out a piece of my love for the car dies
I need ashton's dedication

One of those motors was built with det rods and pistons ready for boost, drove it na to break it in 400km into break in boom main bearing, block was tapped and all for oil return,

i've already done the 6 speed swap for boost, i have 2 6speed sr-bellhoused tranny one for na (p12 4.75fd) and one for boost (spec-v 4.1fd) i have almost everything for boost gt35r, wastegate, bov, intercooler, piping, onle need bigger injectors, i have 550cc(need 720cc or more) more than the power i want a unique and reliable setup

that sounds like a fun motor.

built qr should be good for 220whp with an assload of real low end tq. 200ish for sure.

Revv- I dont get how your killing soo many VE's man. My buddies ve was in his 200sx for over 2 years, 60k miles of absolute torture, saw 11-12k a couple times during mis shifts because he had no rev limiter set with the n1 cams and the realtime, Always abused, always driven hard and the motor still looked absolutely perfect on dissasembly.

My ve lasted 1month in my car because i also had no rev limiter but on stock cams and it survived a couple mis shifts hitting 12k or so but one final one did it in and dropped a valve due to floating valves into the pistons. Cant blame anyone but myself on that one.

Like you said, put a good set of eagle rods in with some ACL bearings, CP high comp pistons if you want to stay n/a and even overbore the motor some and make sure to assemble it properly and torque everything properly and that motor guranteed will last a long long time of hard abuse no questions asked.

but we cant deny a vq making 260-270whp with 260-270ft.lbs in a 2430lbs chassis is much faster compared to 200whp with 150ft.lbs in a 2380lbs chassis. my reason for wanting the vq is the nitrous capabilities if the sr will take 30 shot per cylinder direct port, what about the vq doing 30shot per cylinder? thats 180shot for the vq vs 120shot for the sr. if the car even makes 250whp on 180 shot it has to break 400whp and that equals monster!!!

i think it would be a cool swap.

but at the end of the day for the same ammount of money or less you can make more power with the sr...
