placing the swap in the car is easy,it would be the wiring. The best way would probably be a mega squirt or anyother standalone. this swap would roughly cost about $3500-$4500 for a DIY basic swap. Honestly I would prefer to boost a VVL.

I am with you on this. But I dont think the wiring would be that tricky. You really only have make a few basic things like fuel pump and getting power and ground to the ECM to get it running. Its getting some of the gauges to work that may be a little difficult. And really if you had both wire diagrams side by side, it wouldnt be an issue.

Please get a set of mounts made and a check list of needed items! If this comes out, I wont be selling my car anymore.

dont forget about trying too bypass the ecu nissan NATS system u would need a chip key and a immu its easy to say then do ijs......

Do it like the 240 people do. Reflash the brain to get rid of it.

It all depends on what systems the immobilizer disables when a matching key is not correct. Some just keep the starter from engaging, some dont allow the fuel pump to engage, and some just kill spark and fuel injection. Every manufacturer is different. Again I dont know all the basics of it, but i do know that system can be disabled in the programming of the ecu. So yeah shouldnt be that hard. It can also be manually removed from the circuit board.

My buddy had it down to his s2000 ecu when I did the f20 swap into the ae86. I believe the honda systems disable the fuel and spark drivers. But again it was easily removed from the board and all functioned as normal. Again its no different with the Altima ecu's. If it just doesnt allow starter engagement or fuel pump, well who cares you can always work around that stuff when custom wiring your car. All you got to do is ground your fuel pump relay and then key on the fuel pump comes on. It just wont do the prime. Starter, who cares, our starters are not at all routed through the ecu. So yeah. Someone more knowledgeable with the swap can chime in on what the immobilizer actually affects.

the 240s use the 350z ecu. doug at z fever can remove nats from the 350z ecu . but cannot remove nats from the 02-03 maxima ecus that is used for the swap. if it was that easy plenty of b15s would have vq swaps and not pay $1300 for a wiring conversion.

bro you are all over the b15u site and u know its not that easy. nats disables everything in the car. since its that easy provide a write up for the b15 guys to make it easy for the diy people ijs....

Someone good with electronics could easily hand remove the immobilizer from the ecu and bypass it if thats necessary. I know everyone now is using the later model ecu's that can be tuned with uprev software instead of the old osiris software. Again I havent studied it that much. But im pretty sure uprev can remove the immobilizer or bypass it. You just really have to know what your doing. I dont have everything in front of me to do a writeup on wiring. Obviously they do their harness convertions and run the 350z ecu for a reason, better software, easily removable immobilizer and so on.

If i was going to do the swap i would either go aftermarket ems such as pro efi or keep the drive by wire, swap the gas pedals, wire everything up correctly and ditch the immobilizer by running the newer ecu, pedal and other electronics to make it work.
