Id say if you do it, run DBW harness and ECU. 04+ maxima, 05-06 Altima. So you can use Uprev for tuning, much better then the older ECU's tuning capabilities. Now if you are going stand alone, then run cable.
I honestly wouldnt bother trying to go all out N/A, you will be disappointed, trust me. Ive spent so much on N/A mods to get 280ish whp with my 05 Altima Se-R. It isnt worth the money to go all N/A. Spray it, or boost it. It will take a 150 shot all day long.
That being said though, the 09 Maxima motors are stout. Bigger intake plenum, much bigger head intake and exhaust ports, they flow way better and have much flatter power curves then any other VQ. They also have both intake and exhaust adjustable cam timing, as all previous FWD vq's only have intake. If you are going to do a VQ swap, get an 09 Maxima motor.
Not trying to hate on it, I love the sound of the VQ motor, its amazing. And the swap would be awesome as well, but dont waste your money on trying to make it faster NA besides the simple mods like headers, 3" exhaust, CAI and a tune. I learned that one from experience. Especially since the car is now sitting waiting for boost, fully built.
if you have Q's about the vq motor, feel free to pm me and ask, dont want to clutter this thread up. But i know a TON about the motor.
