Yes fly by wire is optional.
The B14 is FBW and running a JWT ecu.

Id say if you do it, run DBW harness and ECU. 04+ maxima, 05-06 Altima. So you can use Uprev for tuning, much better then the older ECU's tuning capabilities. Now if you are going stand alone, then run cable.

I honestly wouldnt bother trying to go all out N/A, you will be disappointed, trust me. Ive spent so much on N/A mods to get 280ish whp with my 05 Altima Se-R. It isnt worth the money to go all N/A. Spray it, or boost it. It will take a 150 shot all day long.

That being said though, the 09 Maxima motors are stout. Bigger intake plenum, much bigger head intake and exhaust ports, they flow way better and have much flatter power curves then any other VQ. They also have both intake and exhaust adjustable cam timing, as all previous FWD vq's only have intake. If you are going to do a VQ swap, get an 09 Maxima motor.

Not trying to hate on it, I love the sound of the VQ motor, its amazing. And the swap would be awesome as well, but dont waste your money on trying to make it faster NA besides the simple mods like headers, 3" exhaust, CAI and a tune. I learned that one from experience. Especially since the car is now sitting waiting for boost, fully built.

if you have Q's about the vq motor, feel free to pm me and ask, dont want to clutter this thread up. But i know a TON about the motor.

my boy runs 12.2 the 1/4 mile with i/h/e and jwt cams non tuned 276whp pump on a heavy b15 ijs now he is going to tune on e85 imagine the power he would make .. i ran a 8.7 in the 1/8 with street tires with my b15 vq35 stock ecu so imagine in a b13. remember altimas are heavy as shit and your tranny suck ass no lsd diffrent gearing as well. also for the price of an 09 motor u can make the older vqs quicker.

Oh i know its fast, and would be really fast in a b13. Im just saying dont do a full NA build because it isnt worth the money. Simple i/h/e and a tune is worth it, anything else isnt worth the time or money. Raising the compression of the motor wont give you and hp, it needs to be stroked to make more power. Just easier and cheaper to spray or boost it. The swap is sick though, not hating on it at all. The engine is amazing

trueish, except the weight thing.....my 08 altima se doesnt weigh that much more than my b15 i used to have. im still wanting a b13 with this motor, it is by FAR the smoothest running car ive ever owned, with GOBS of power. i have a "boring" cvt 3.5 se, and i shit you not car ran 14.80s bone stock, because i was BORED. beating modified imports with my stock dd ride, just isnt right. my point is, a b13 is over 1000 pounds lighter, and with a STOCK 3.5, i dont think id need anything else to be honest. im really done with modified engines, id love to just be done with it and put a stock vq 35 in the nx and be done with it. so, GET ON WITH THIS KIT, im down......if you need a car, i have a shell.

I am impressed that my thread has lasted this long! I am still waiting for something like this to come available. Really I just want a motor mount kit and breakdown kinda like Mazworx did for the 6 speed swap. I think this is even easier really.
