magnaflow resonator+cat
i got 2.5 inch piping on it already with no cat and a huge 6 inch magnaflow resonator. i wanna lower it soon so the big magnaflow has gotta go. and since this is my DD, im thinking ill bite the bullet and put a cat back on so these are the parts im looking at getting:

MagnaFlow 10416 - MagnaFlow Performance Mufflers - Overview - SummitRacing.com
MagnaFlow 47206 - MagnaFlow Universal Catalytic Converters - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Hmmm I wouldnt have imagined that your set up would be too big to go lower. The cat back isnt a bad idea either though. How does the Magnaflow sound right now though?

that is the resonator i have right now. its a beast. really too beastly for my taste. it just annoys me how it bangs around under the car and sits really low to the ground. if it was any lower, speed bumps would become problems.

i had to switch my order to this cat MagnaFlow 47206 - MagnaFlow Universal Catalytic Converters - Overview - SummitRacing.com
cuz the other was not legal in California. that pic is generic; the guy from summit said its actually oval and has no flanges.

that monster resonator was super quiet the day i put it on, and got progressively louder as i guess it broke in. nothin is loose and theres no leaks, but i guess they just get louder as time goes by. ive only had it for a few months and now it sounds about as loud as it was with the stock reso/stock cat and header and same N1 style muffler.

see its massive

and see how there isnt much clearance near the back so it bangs around. the banging was so bad with my stock engine mounts i thought i was losing my exhaust lol. now i have prothanes and it doesnt slap the chassis in reverse like it used to haha (well 3 out of 4 of my mounts were busted so there was a lot of engine movement) Now theres NO engine movement and the resonator still hits when turning or hitting bumps in the road or whatever.
